Background

At the 2025 National Day Rally, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced that the Community Development Councils (CDCs) will lead a new initiative to help Singaporeans find job opportunities closer to home.

Leveraging their strong networks with local merchants, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and community partners, the CDCs are well-placed to bridge the last-mile connection between jobseekers and employers.

Launched on 23 October 2025, Jobs Nearby @ CDC supports the national effort to help Singaporeans seize employment opportunities amid an evolving economic landscape. The CDCs, established under the People's Association Act in 1997, are instrumental in bringing this initiative to the community.

The initiative provides accessible, personalised and localised employment support, combining community touchpoints and one-to-one guidance to connect residents with suitable nearby jobs.
